The summer is finally here, or what little of it we Brits get is here and that can only mean one thing, the summer holiday. Thousands of Brits are pouring out of airports all across the world right now in search of the summer sun and shockingly many of them are undertaking these journeys with no travel insurance at all.

Many of these holiday makers have been risking these trips for years without the proper insurance and have developed a ‘it won’t happen to us attitude’ which coupled with the healthcare system we have in the UK can lead to sticky situations financially if anything does happen.

When it comes to thinking about travel insurance it is important to remember that not ever country is as lucky as we are to have a free healthcare system, in other countries medical care can be exceptionally expensive. We are lucky in the fact we have an EHIC card which covers us for some medical situations in other countries, but it is important to remember that it won’t cover everything and this cover differs between countries. So remember to check what you are covered for on this before heading off on your holidays.

But medical bills aren’t the only thing covered by travel insurance, you will also be insured against such situations as your flight been cancelled or if you need to cancel your trip for any reason. They can also cover against you wanting to cancel your trip due to weather or events that are happening within a country, for example terrorist attacks. Travel insurance also protects you incase the company you have booked with goes bankrupt or even pay for hotels if you are stranded abroad during your holiday.

With so many possible events that could lead up to your holiday being ruined on to of the huge medical expenses you could face if you have an accident or become ill on holiday it is easy to see why travel insurance is an important part of your holiday plans. Well written article.

Travel insurance indeed is important just like as life, and non-life insurance are important. It is important because a traveler doesn’t know what will happen during the course of his/her flight. Lost baggage unexpected health illnesses are just among the circumstances that can happen for a traveler. That is why he or she should be insured by getting a travel insurance.

It is very important, especially in the risk areas, of course don’t forget to get a shot if you go in Asia or Africa.

Travel insurance is not much different than any other kind of insurance. It is just for your safety and good. The prices are not very high and savings and coverage can be very helpful, no matter you are on domestic or holiday abroad.

I rarely buy travel insurance and I think this is my mistake. Last year I’ve had some troubles during my vacation and this cost me a lot of money. I think everybody should look at the options, at the end of the day travel insurance is not that expensive.

It is true holiday can be ruined, but what insurance will help to do the opposite, if something goes wrong, for sure nobody will have good time, however it is always good to have an insurance.

I feel so guilty now. I opt out travel insurance fees whenever I purchase an airline ticket even if I believe that it is very important. I should really start changing this attitude.
