Georgetown itself is best to be explored by foot. Travel within Georgetown by walking especially during the morning where you can have the chance to explore and enjoy the heritage buildings and commercial activities along the roads. In the same time, traveling by trishaws is also fun if you are looking for a cheap way to explore the city.
Money changers can be found in most areas in Penang and from my experience they offer a better rate than hotels. Besides that, restaurants with various choices of food are also easy to find and you can get delicious foods with affordable prices.
Malaysia’s tropical climate includes soaring temperatures and high humidity. The rain season usually starts in August and ends in November so it is recommended to visit Penang during this period if you are interested in sightseeing and outdoor activities. It is usually dry from December until January so is the most suitable time to visit Penang.
